Leona Wilson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Leona Iline Wilson, daughter of Ned R. and Lucretia E. McCracken Burch, was born May 23, 1936, in Linn Creek, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, March 29, 2012, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, ten months, and six days.
On August 18, 1958, she was united in marriage to Wilburn Edward “Dugar” Wilson, and to this union four daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilburn, on December 28, 2009; a daughter, Georgia Denise Dennison; a son, Dennis Wilson; a granddaughter, Amanda Alexander; and a sister, Barbara Holldorf.
Leona is survived by four daughters, Janice Alexander, and her husband, Roy, of Richland, Missouri, Karen Thomas, and her husband, Danny, Brenda Kentner, and her husband, Junior, and Karmen Wilson, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Raymond Burch, of Richland, Missouri; two foster brothers, James Hall, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Robbie Hall, of Tulare, California; two foster sisters, Julia Lane, of Orlando, Florida, and Virginia Ouellet, of Oceanside, California; a number of nieces and nephews; two girls that she called her “daughters”, Sharon Koehler, and Diana Callahan; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Linn Creek community, and then moved with her family to the Lebanon area. After she and Wilburn were married, they made their home in the Falcon community, and lovingly raised their daughters. Throughout the years, Leona was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Leona was raised in the Sunnyview Freewill Baptist Church, and was currently a member of Brownfield Baptist Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed working in her flower garden, fishing, and jig dancing. She also liked being with her family and friends.
Leona was a wonderful, loving mother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the special memories she created for them during her lifetime.
