Leonard Lee Sien (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Leonard Lee Sien, son of Fred and Bonnie Rogers Sien, was born December 25, 1938, near Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life on Saturday, November 26, 2022, in the same homestead where he was born, at the age of eighty-three years, eleven months, and one day.
He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Deliah; a daughter, LeaSha; three grandsons, Mason Allen, Ruger Sien, and Maverick Sien; two brothers, Fred Sien, Jr. and Orville Sien; three sisters, Dorothy Booker, Pauline Smith, and Bonnie Lou Rodden.
Leonard is survived by three daughters, Teresa Knight, Brenda Grier, both of Lebanon, Missouri, and Laura O’Bannon, and her husband, Tony, of Wagoner, Oklahoma; two sons, Randy Sien, and Chris Decker, both of Lebanon, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; five brothers, Virgil, Albert, Glen, Delbert and Charlie Sien, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Opal Dowden, Evalena McDaniel, and Mary Ann Dowden, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Lebanon area and attended Mulligan School. He began working at Independent Stave Company, now Missouri Cooperage, and then was employed by Mid-America Dairy for twenty-seven years, retiring in 1996. He then worked milking cows, construction work, and finally a lumber mill.
Leonard followed the Baptist and Pentecostal faiths throughout his life.
He enjoyed being outdoors where he liked hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and Circle Track Racing. He was excellent at math and was a good builder. His children sang in gospel groups and he was the Master of Ceremonies. He loved his family dearly and especially loved having time with his grandchildren.
Leonard was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
