Leonard Smith's Obituary
Leonard Ray Smith, son of Basil and Virgie Wallander Smith, was born October 3, 1943, in Joplin, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, June 28, 2007, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-three years, eight months, and twenty-five days. His step-father, Ira Davis, preceded him in death. Leonard is survived by two daughters, Christina Smith and Brianna Smith, both of the State of Texas; his mother, Virgie Lawson, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Keith Davis, of Stoutland, Missouri; two sisters, Kay Kneedler, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Elaine Davis, of the State of Maryland; his companion, Barbara Easter, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born in Joplin, Missouri, but lived most of his life in the Lebanon, Missouri area. Throughout his life he had worked at various different jobs, including a few years at Copeland Corporation. Leonard had attended Harvest Tabernacle – United Pentecostal Church in Lebanon. In his spare time he liked watching and video taping movies, and visiting with his family and friends. Leonard will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the McBride Cemetery, near Competition, Missouri. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 - 5:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to The American Cancer Society may be made through the funeral home.
