Leora Baker (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Leora May Baker, age 84 of Morrisville, Missouri passed away Friday evening, July 29, 2011 at her home in Morrisville, after a lingering illness.
Leora was born January 30, 1927 in Corning, New York, the daughter of Matthew Woodard and Katherine (Cern) Woodard.
On March 28, 1944 she married Clyde Wendell Baker in Corning, New York.
She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and in her spare time, enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and doing most anything “crafty”.
Leora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clyde on June 26, 2004, six brothers, and three sisters.
Leora is survived by her five daughters; Ada O’dell of Morrisville, Missouri, Martha Kyle and her companion Henry Ivemeyer of South Carolina, Linda and Phillip Harbaugh of Ohio, Vickie and Ronnie Campbell of Corning, New York, and Irene Baker and her companion Patrick Daugherty of Corning, New York, two sons; Clyde Baker, Jr. and his wife Lois, of Corning, New York, Edward Baker and his companion Paula Heavin, two half sisters; Mary Perslopski of Corning, New York, and Betty Ann White, of Pennsylvania, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Friday, August 5, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch in Brighton, Missouri with Pastor Dennis Johnston officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Butler Funeral Home, Bolivar Missouri. Private burial of Leora’s cremains will be interred at Elmwood Cemetery in Caton, New York at a later date.
