Leora R. Egert (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mrs. Leora Rosella “Bobbie” Egert, age 96, of Springfield, Missouri, passed to her Heavenly home on September 27, 2011 at Windsor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Windsor, Missouri.
She was born November 5, 1914 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Ferdinand J. Miller and Mary (Lassond) Miller.
On November 10, 1937 she married Richard H. Egert in Toledo, Ohio. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1970.
Bobbie retired at the age of 79 from St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. During her employment at the hospital, she was given the award of Employee of the Year while working in the pediatric department. She was a faithful member of St. Agnes Cathedral in Springfield, and active with the Senior’s Alive Group.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard, one brother, eight sisters and three grandchildren.
Bobbie is survived by her three children; Margaret “Peggy” Roberts and her husband Gene of Clinton, Missouri, Joyce Fleenor and her husband John of Denver, Colorado, Daniel “Dan” Egert and his wife Pam of Dallas, Texas, 8 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
Her sense of humor and easy style added to the lives of family, friends, co-workers, and the children of her pediatric work. She will be lovingly remembered by many.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am, Saturday, October 1, 2011 at St. Agnes Cathedral in Springfield, Missouri with Father Michael V. McDevitt officiating under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:00-10:00am on Saturday prior to service time. Burial will take place at a later date in the Alma Cemetery in Alma, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 610 S. 4th Street, Clinton, Missouri 65735-2918 or to St. Agnes Cathedral, 533 S. Jefferson Avenue, Springfield, Missouri 65806-3105.
