Leota Napper's Obituary
Leota May Napper, daughter of Rev. Freeman Levi and Ida Bell Berry Jennings, was born March 9, 1936, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, August 13, 2009, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, five months, and four days. On November 25, 1955, she was united in marriage to Jackie Harold Napper, Sr., and this union was blessed with two sons. She was preceded in death by her father; a brother-in-law, Rev. Lyall Parsons; and two nephews, Timothy and Matthew Parsons. Leota is survived by her loving husband, U.S. Army Master Sergeant Retired Jackie Napper, of the home; two sons, Jack Napper, Jr., and his wife, Lisa, of Dallas, Texas, and Roger Napper, and his wife, Mary, of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kimberly Bailey, and her husband, Nick, Jared and Joshua Napper; a great-grandson, Luke Bailey; her mother, Ida Jennings, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Rev. Bill Jennings, and his wife, Roena, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; two sisters, Mary Parsons, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Donita Reid, and her husband, Darrel, of Willard, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. She was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area. After she and Jackie were married, they made their home in various locations, including Germany, while Jackie was serving in the United States Army. Once Jackie retired from the military, the family lived in Illinois for ten years, then in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Cuba, Missouri, before finally returning to Lebanon. Throughout the years, Leota was a devoted and hard working homemaker to her husband and family. Leota was a member of Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church of God in Lebanon and was active in her church for as long as her health allowed. She had been the pianist and frequent vocalist for the church for a number of years. In her spare time she enjoyed playing the piano and singing, but caring for her home and her family was always her top priority. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Leota was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday August 16, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon. Burial will be in Veterans' Park at Mt. Rose Memorial Park.
