Leroy Morrison (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Leroy Morrison, son of Roy Lee and Gracie M. Webb Morrison, was born September 23, 1935, near Decaturville, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, January 22, 2015, in Christian Health and Rehabilitation Center South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, three months, and twenty-nine days.
On September 24, 1954, he was united in marriage to Lavern Clough, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Clyde, Claudie, Johnnie, Jesse, and Jimmie Morrison; and a sister, Ida Looney.
Leroy is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Lavern, of the home; a daughter, Kathy Conn, and her husband, Walter, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, William Morrison, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Steven D. Morrison, of St. Louis, Missouri; a granddaughter, Rachelle Roberts, and her husband, Brett, of the State of South Dakota; a grandson, Aaron Conn, and his wife, Melanie, of the State of Florida; a great-grandson, Quentin Roberts, of the State of South Dakota; a brother, Marion Morrison, and his wife, Margie, of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; a sister, Irene Anderson, and her husband, Andrew, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Leroy was raised in the Decaturville community. He then made his home in Kansas City, Missouri, where he met and married Lavern. They continued to live in Kansas City for over fifteen years, while Leroy was employed by Owens Corning Fiberglass Company. The family then moved back to the Lebanon area, and Leroy began working in the construction business, specializing in plumbing.
Leroy had professed his faith in Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon. He had also gone on youth mission trips with the young people of the church.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where he liked to go fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed doing woodworking projects. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandson. His mission in life was to put a smile on everyone’s face as often as possible.
Leroy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his seventy-nine years.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and left at the funeral home.
