Leroy B. Stroud (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Leroy B. Stroud, son of the late Bert and Cleo Bell (Ernst) Stroud was born on January 16, 1938 in Fairplay, MO, and departed this life on February 11, 2020 in Overland Park, KS. At the time of his passing he was 82 years and 25 days of age.
Leroy was born and raised in Fairplay, MO. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for the Faultless Starch Bon Ami Company for 40 years. He met the love of his life, Geraldine “Gerri” Anne Jones who was also employed there, and they were united in marriage on June 13, 1965. They were blessed with four daughters, Judith, Vicky, Brenda, and Jan, all of whom survive him. In his spare time, he loved to go bowling, spend time with his family, and work on his farm. Leroy was an active member of the High Prairie Baptist Church, and loved by everyone who knew him.
Leroy was preceded in death by his wife Gerri; his parents; and a half-sister. He is survived by his four daughters, Judith Maloney, Vicky Pace, Brenda Harwig, and Jan Adams; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home. Escorts will be Joshua Kinzel, Lake Kinzel, Corey Harwig, Evan Berndt, Jeff Adams, and Pete Pace. Honorary escort will be Ernie Harwig. Interment will be in the Maple Lawn Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the High Prairie Baptist Church.
