Leta Avis Boyd (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Leta Avis (Gulick) Boyd, age 98 of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Monday evening, May 21, 2012 at Citizen’s Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri.
She was born September 21, 1913 in Morrisville, Missouri, the daughter of John William Gulick and Media Princella (Simmons) Gulick. She graduated from Marion C. Early High School in 1933.
Avis married C. L. Boyd on January 27, 1934. To this union was born three children; Marilynn, Charlene and Charles W. Boyd.
After living near Carthage for a few years, she spent the rest of her life near Bolivar. She worked for Miller Jewelry for many years.
Avis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; C.L. Boyd in 1968, her daughter and son-in-law; Charlene and Ron Miller, her brother and sister-in-law; Noel & Vianis Gulick.
She is survived by her daughter; Marilynn Root and her husband Bill of Bolivar, Missouri, her son; Charles W. Boyd and his wife Marcia of Valrico, Florida, four grandchildren; Jim Root and his wife Viola of Bolivar, Missouri, Julie Key and her husband Danny of Lenexa, Kansas, Jay Miller and his wife Steffanie of Springfield, Missouri and Ryan Boyd of Valrico, Florida, one great grandson; Allen Root of Halfway, Missouri, Two step granddaughters; Kim Hodskin and Tracy Hesselink of Valrico, Florida, three great granddaughters; Jordan, Erin & Reagan Key of Lenexa, Kansas, one step great granddaughter; Hallie Hesselink of Valrico, Florida, two great grandsons; Caleb & Addison Miller of Springfield, Missouri, one great great grandson; Kolton Root of Halfway, Missouri, four step great grandsons; Alex & William Cooper of Bolivar, Missouri, Hunter Hesselink and Jackson Cooper Hodskin of Florida, and two step great, great grandchildren; Kyla & Shawn Gunn of Halfway, Missouri, a sister-in-law; Zelma Becker and several nieces and nephews.
