Letta Alice Guinn (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Letta Alice Guinn, daughter of William Lewis and Nellie Ross Sheldon, was born November 12, 1932, near Hooker, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, January 7, 2016, in Sunset Village, in St. Robert, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, one month, and twenty-five days.
On June 9, 1961, she was united in marriage to Donald Fay Guinn, and they shared forty-four years before his passing on August 25, 2005.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; and six sisters.
Letta is survived by a sister, Sharlotte Smith, of Devil’s Elbow, Missouri; three sisters-in-law, Frances Sheldon, of Devil’s Elbow, Missouri, Carol Robertson, and her husband, Dale, of Willard, Missouri, and Barbara Guinn, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; her wonderful caregiver, Irene McClellan, of Devil’s Elbow, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Hooker and Waynesville areas. After she and Don were married, they made their home in Lebanon. Through the years, Letta was a devoted homemaker to her husband and also worked as a waitress and a cook at various times. She was also employed by the Walnut Bowl Store for a short time.
Letta was an active member of the Sleeper United Methodist Church for many years.
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, growing beautiful flowers, and raising chickens. She was rather strong willed and stood steadfast to her convictions. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her nieces and nephews.
Letta was a loving sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-three years.
