Levi Shaver (Hartville)'s Obituary
Levi Grant Shaver, son of James and Nola Teague Shaver, was born September 20, 1920, in Wright County, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, September 14, 2015 in his home, at the age of ninety-four years, eleven months, and twenty-five days.
On February 21, 1946, Levi was united in marriage to Garna Oleta Henslee and to this union two sons were born.
Levi was preceded in death by his wife, Garna, on March 12, 2007; three brothers, Chester, Carl, and Dale Shaver; and a sister, Fern Nichols.
He is survived by his sons, Garry Shaver and wife Sharon, of Grovespring, Missouri, and Bruce Shaver and wife Delynn, of Grovespring, Missouri; six grandchildren, Stanley Shaver, Shawna Northrop, Kristy Jordan, Kelby Shaver, Kara Williamson, Sasha Shaver; twelve great-grandchildren, Nickolas Shaver, Adam Shaver, Jordan Northrop, Kaylee Northrop, Shyla Jordan, Zoey Jordan, Dallas Jordan, Emma Mary Shaver, Grayson Shaver, Levi Shaver, Wesley Williamson, and Reese Williamson; sisters-in-law, Rita and Ilene Shaver; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Levi was a lifelong resident of Wright County and attended Luallin Grade School. He proudly served his country during World War II and was honorably discharged. Following his discharge, Levi met and married Garna Henslee and they would shortly return to Wright County. He spent his life working as a farmer, carpenter, and bulk fuel driver.
He was known as being a hard worker, and in his younger years enjoyed coon hunting and horseback riding. He was a talented musician and enjoyed playing music for many years.
Levi was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends.
