Several years ago, when I was in my 20s, I contacted Lewis via email in regard to the Heifner book and some research I was doing for my own knowledge of our Family. He was extremely helpful, treated me like family, and exhibited a vigor for the passing-on of our family history. He explained to me the longevity that Heifner's have had in America, and was proud of our heritage and involvement in the making of America. I am truly sorry that I never met him, and was saddened to learn of his passing. My best wishes go to his family and friends, and I am proud to have had contact with him.
