Lillian Mayab's Obituary
Lillian Lucille Mayab, daughter of Elva and Alta Gourley Williams, was born June 20, 1928, near Orla, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, September 12, 2008, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, two months, and twenty-two days. On October 28, 1946, she was united in marriage to Clyde Morris Mayab, and to this union one son and one daughter were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde, on February 21, 1995; three brothers, Alfred and Lloyd Williams, and an infant; and three sisters, Wilma (Green) Routh, Patsy Williams, and Clara Jinks. Lillian is survived by a daughter, Debra Carriger, and her husband, Alfred, of Grovespring, Missouri; a son, Larry Mayab, and his wife, Cindy, of Springfield, Missouri; six grandchildren, Darin Mayab, Lucinda Scherer, and her husband, Frank, Christopher Carriger, and Melissa, Austin Carriger, and his wife, Kimberly, Shawna Workman, and Josh Workman, and his wife, Amber; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beulah Mayab, of Troy, Missouri, and Sue Tabit, of the State of Ohio; two brothers-in-law, Junior Arnall, of Hartville, Missouri, and Donnie Mayab, and his wife, Peggy, of Springfield, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born in the Orla, Missouri community and then lived most of her life in Wright County, Missouri. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Lillian and Clyde also owned and operated a trucking company. Lillian attended Morgan Baptist Church as a youth, and then enjoyed the fellowship at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She made her profession of faith in Christ later in her life. In her spare time she enjoyed working on woodworking projects with Clyde, and also liked attending antique fairs where they could share their treasurers. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed having them around her. Lillian was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday September 15, 2008 at the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Lebanon. Visitation is Sunday Evening 4-5:30 pm. Burial will be in Little Vine Cemetery under the direction of Holman- Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri.A memorial has been established to the Little Vine Cemetery care fund and donations may be made through the funeral home.
