Lillian J. Rolston (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Lillian Jewell Rolston, daughter of Silas and Willie Ann Murrell Anderson, was born September 23, 1932, near Winnipeg, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, February 21, 2015, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years, four months, and twenty-six days.
On September 8, 1955, she was united in marriage to David Jackson “Jack” Rolston, Jr., and they shared fifty-four years before his passing on May 6, 2010.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William F. and Eugene Anderson; and a sister, Alleta Scher.
Lillian is survived by a brother, James Anderson, and his wife, Thelma, of Lebanon, Missouri; four sisters, Peggy Bowling, and her husband, Earl, Judy Rubles, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Isabelle Atterberry, of Evening Shade, Missouri, and Juanita Collier, of Springfield, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Winnipeg community, and attended Lebanon High School. She then moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she worked as a dietician for St. Luke’s Hospital for several years. After she and Jack were married, they continued to make their home in Kansas City, and Lillian was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. She also did sewing for people. In 1994, she and Jack retired to Lebanon.
Lillian had attended Harvest Tabernacle-United Pentecostal Church in Lebanon.
She dearly loved her nieces and nephews and enjoyed taking care of and playing with them. She liked to travel and was always ready to go. Among her favorite things to eat were cashew chicken and fried fish.
Lillian was a loving sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
