She greatly enjoyed holidays and liked decorating her home for each season. She was an excellent cook, and loved preparing meals for large numbers of people. She was especially known for her delicious chicken and dumplings, which her family greatly enjoyed. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
