Linda R. Ross (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Linda Rae Ross was born December 9, 1942, in Fork Hill, South Carolina and departed this life Wednesday, March 10, 2021, in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years three months, and one day.
On September 15, 1959, she was united in marriage to James A. Ross, and to this union two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Lessie; a son, James Ross; a brother, Barry Blackmon; and two sisters, Edith Simms, and Shirley Williams.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of sixty-one years, James, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Patty Ross, of La Porte, Indiana; two granddaughters, Jennifer Matthews, her husband, Daniel and her great-granddaughter, Emily; and Rebecca Sage; a daughter-in law, Jana Ross; three brothers, Foster Blackmon, Jr., of Kershaw, South Carolina, Michael Blackmon and James Blackmon, both of Fork Hill, South Carolina; three sisters, Kathy Langley, Vickie Blackmon, and Terry Simms, all of Fork Hill, South Carolina; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in South Carolina. After she and James were married, they made their home in the Michigan City and La Porte, Indiana area. They lived there for thirty-one years, and Linda was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. In 1992, they retired and moved to Lebanon, Missouri.
She was always busy making something whether it was through sewing, crocheting or knitting. She also enjoyed looking for antiques and doing arts and craft projects. She liked going to casinos and doing some gambling. She made friends easily and enjoyed visiting with her many friends. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed her two granddaughters and her great-granddaughter.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she made for them during her lifetime.
A graveside service will be held at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, near Waynesville, Missouri on Friday, March 26 at 2 p.m.
