On April 20, 1957, he was united in marriage to Rosa Marie Prater, and this union was blessed with one daughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Barber; four half-brothers, Glen, Lawrence, and Edward Barber, and Marvin Sims; and a half-sister, Ellen May (Sims) Windsor.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Rosa, of the home; a daughter, Misty Skaff, of Huntingtown, Maryland; a brother, Forrest Ray Barber, of Cross Timbers, Missouri; two sisters, Mary Angst, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Ethel Fahrmeier, of Higginsville, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area. He then moved to Kansas City, Missouri in the early 1950’s. He worked for a box company and in freight industries throughout his life, and was employed by Radial Warehouse for many years. He eventually retired as a forklift operator for Hyman Freightways.
Lloyd had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church in North Kansas City, Missouri.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were boating, pulling water skiers, and fishing. He also liked to work in his garden. He was a quiet and easygoing gentleman with a kind spirit, and learned how to take joking after marrying into the Prater family. He loved his family dearly, and especially enjoyed time with his wife and daughter.
Lloyd was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them throughout the years.
