Lloyd Lavern</em> <em>Williams' Obituary
Lloyd Lavern Williams, son of Edward and Clete Nunn Williams, was born March 18, 1930, near Competition, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, February 1, 2009, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, ten months, and thirteen days. On June 23, 1955, he was united in marriage to Hazel Jean Warren, and to this union three daughters and two sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Woodrow, Bill, and Bob Williams; and an infant sister. Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Hazel, of the home; two sons, Jerry Williams, and his wife, Ana, of Burkburnett, Texas, and Dale Williams, and his wife, Christie, of Lebanon, Missouri; three daughters, Cora Ruggles, and her husband, Gerald, Sharon Acklin, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Linda Kuhn, and her husband, Allan, of Polk, Missouri; twenty grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; three brothers, Howard Williams, and his wife, Kathy, Edward Williams, and his wife, Edna Mae, and John Williams, and his wife, Barb, all of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Bessie Ellis, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Katheryn Zimmerman, and her husband, Sam, of the State of Indiana; a number of nieces and nephews; a special friend, Louise Knowles, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised near Competition, in Laclede County, Missouri. After he and Hazel were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area and lovingly raised their children. For several years, Lloyd worked for the Independent Stave Company in Lebanon. In his spare time, Lloyd liked to be outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing and hunting. He also liked collecting knives of all types. He was a very lovable man who never met a stranger. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with them and his friends. Lloyd Lavern was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friends. We celebrate his life and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be 2:00 pm. Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. Burial will be in the McBride Cemetery, near Competition, Missouri. Visitation will be 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in the Funeral Home. Return to top
