Lois Adamson (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Lois Freida Adamson, daughter of Goldman and Cleo Moser Long, was born March 7, 1932 in Mountain Grove, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, April 15, 2018 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of eighty-six years, one month and eight days.
On March 30, 1960 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Adamson and to this union three children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, David Adamson, brother, Marshall Long, sisters, Ruth Short and Thelma Dobies, step-son, James Adamson and step-daughter, Quanna Zavala.
Lois is survived by her husband of fifty-eighty years, Kenneth, of the home; two daughters, Diane Taylor and husband, Steve, of Ava, Missouri and Debbie Otto and husband, Earl, of Mansfield, Missouri; grandson/son, Matthew Adamson; grandson, J.J. Riggs; granddaughter, Amanda Wilkerson and husband, Shawn; step-grandchildren,Sandra Meredith and husband, Delbert, Misty, Brad and Miguel; several great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce Long of Mountain Grove, Missouri; sister, Exa Retherford of State of Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Mountain Grove and was a graduate of Mountain Grove High School in the Class of 1950. After graduating, she moved to Denver, Colorado where she worked at Woolworth’s Department Store. She returned to Mountain Grove and began working at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield and that is where she met Kenneth. She had also worked for several years at the Mansfield Nursing Home.
Lois made a profession of faith in Christ many years ago and was a member of the Mansfield Freewill Baptist Church. She loved attending church and taking her grandson, Matt, with her.
In her spare time, she loved to read. In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening, her flowers and canning.
Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will always cherish the many special times we had together.
