Lois Calhoun (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mary “Lois” Calhoun was born August 9, 1937, in Kennett, Missouri, to Cecil H. and Mary (Baughn) Ivie. She departed this life to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, December 20, 2025 in Lake Regional hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty-eight years, four months and eleven days of age.
Lois graduated from Caruth High School in 1956 and over the years lived in Kennett, Ava, Poplar Bluff and Lebanon, Missouri, as well as Heber Springs, Rogers, and Wilmar, Arkansas, making lots of dear friends along the way.
Lois was united in marriage to Ralph Calhoun on December 17, 1971, and they recently celebrated fifty-four years together.
Lois was preceded in death by a son, David Yates; a step-son, Greg Calhoun; a sister, Shirley (Ivie) McIntosh; and brothers, Cecil Ivie, Leon Ivie, Jim Ivie, Glen Ivie and Leroy Ivie.
Lois is survived by her loving husband, Ralph; two children from an earlier marriage, Leanna (Yates) Pogue and her husband Steve of Pacific, Missouri and Mike Yates of Kennett, Missouri; and her step-son Keith Calhoun and his wife Carla of Lebanon, Missouri; her precious grandchildren, Dana (Yates) Albright and her husband Dan, Chris Yates, Jeremy Yates and his wife Justina, Jason Yates, Shay Ehrhardt, Hannah Calhoun, Grace Calhoun Linam and her husband Luke, Brandon Calhoun and his wife Gurneet, and Tiffany Calhoun Gieselmann and her husband James; her great-grandchildren, Lauren Chapman, Alison Cooper, Alex Yates, Carson Yates, Dylan Yates, Jaden Yates, Jared Yates, Presleigh Yates, Alyssa Fredwell, Jackson Gieselmann and Nivaan Calhoun; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Molly.
Lois knew her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, attended church regularly no matter where she and Ralph lived, and was actively involved in many church activities. Her membership was in Harmony Freewill Baptist Church in Rye, Arkansas, but recent attendance was enjoyed at Cedarhurst Assisted Living through Heritage Baptist Church.
Lois lived a wonderful life. She loved to cook and spend time with her family and her precious grandchildren. She also treasured her relationships with her sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and extended family in Arkansas. Lois loved her many friends, looked forward to family reunions and family activities, and participating in church functions. She enjoyed going to the lake and fishing, she liked to go dancing and looked forward to bowling and playing other games.
She will be dearly missed by her many friends from Cedarhurst where she and Ralph have lived for the past five years. Lois was a very organized person and was an immaculate decorator and homemaker. She was especially proud of a fifty-four year happy and loving marriage to her beloved husband, Ralph.
Graveside Services for Lois Calhoun will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Dunklin Memorial Gardens in Kennett, Missouri, at 2:00 p.m.
Friends may call on Monday afternoon and evening, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon, Missouri.
