Lois Howard's Obituary
Lois Pearl Howard, daughter of Hughlet Earl “H.E.” and Dollie Pearl King Robertson, was born June 24, 1926, near Phillipsburg, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, January 10, 2008, in Austin, Texas, at the age of eighty-one years, six months, and sixteen days. On September 27, 1959, she was united in marriage to Harvey H. Howard, and to this union two daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, her twin, Luke Earl Robertson, and Larry Robertson, and his wife, Wanda; two sisters, Iris Robertson, and Oleta Vernon, and her husband, J. P.; and a niece, Pat Ebby. Lois is survived by her loving husband of forty-eight years, Harvey, of the home; two daughters, Michelle, of Austin, Texas, and Melissa, of Willard, Missouri; a sister, Loreta Hendrickson, and her husband, Leonard, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. She was born and raised in the Phillipsburg community and was the homecoming queen and Valedictorian of her senior class at Phillipsburg High School. After she and Harvey were married, they made their home in Springfield, Missouri, and lovingly raised their daughters. In addition to being a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her husband and family, Lois also worked as a secretary for several years. Lois was baptized into the Church of Christ at the age of fourteen and was a faithful member all of her life. She loved her church and her church family. In her spare time she and her daughter enjoyed decorating for themselves as well as for others. She liked to travel and especially enjoyed picking up shells on the beach. She also liked to go shopping and to cook for her family and friends. She loved her family dearly and greatly enjoyed spending time with them. Lois was a loving and beautiful person, both inside and out, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
