Lois Newton (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Lois A. Newton (Sonderman), daughter of Linus and Lesla Sonderman, was born December 6, 1943 in Saint Louis, Missouri and departed this life on March 23, 2021 at the age of 77.
On September 9, 1977, Lois was united in marriage to Clarence Newton from Mansfield, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Richard Sonderman and Stephen Sonderman, son Michael Kolley, brother in laws Leroy Volmert and Carl Gene Newton, and one sister in law Patricia Clements.
Lois is survived by her stepson, Jeff Newton and wife Karen, two granddaughters, Rebecca Newton and Danielle Newton, sister Elaine Volmert, brothers Thomas Sonderman (Linda) and Philip Sonderman (Vicki), three sisters-in-law Terri Sonderman, Elenor Newton, and Wanda Taylor, along with many nieces, nephews, and relatives, and many friends.
Lois was raised in Saint Louis, Missouri and graduated from Pattonville High School, class of 1962. She began her working career in bookkeeping, payroll, and various other positions at several credit unions. She retired from Eagle Credit Union in 2008.
In her spare time, Lois enjoyed bingo, traveling, playing cards, theatre, going to lunch with her retired friends, and all family gatherings.
Lois was a loving wife, mother, stepmother and step grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will always cherish the special times we had together.
Services will be Saturday, March 27 at 1 p.m. in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from noon until service time on Saturday. Burial will follow in the Mansfield Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield, Missouri.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
