Lois Pauline Cook (Seymour)'s Obituary
Lois Pauline Cook was born October 31, 1928 to George and Dora Johnson, in Unionville, Missouri. She departed this world on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Cox Health Hospital South, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, one month and sixteen days.
On October 22, 1946 she married Samuel N. Cook and to this union four children were born. For sixty-five years Lois and Sam lovingly raised their family and built a life together through faith and love.
She had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of the Assembly of God. Lois humbly served her Lord caring for those in her community, giving her time at the 25cent store, and by living a life of example for her family and friends. Her long standing faith carried her through out her life, giving her a peace and joy she shared with others.
Lois took pleasure in her family; she was a wonderful cook and especially enjoyed making Christmas candy to share with neighbors. Hot rolls to carrot cake, Lois put love as the first ingredient in everything she made. Often, Lois spent more time worried about others, before her own needs. She never had a bad word to say about anyone, and left an imprint on all she met. Her sweet soul, kind words and caring nature, bring wonderful memories to those she loved.
She is preceded in death by an infant son, two daughters, her parents and three brothers.
Lois leaves behind her devoted husband, Samuel Cook of the home; her daughter Evelyn Choate and husband Jim, of Niangua, Missouri; David Nixon, whom she raised as a son, and wife Vicki, of Texas; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, 2 sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, along with many other family and friends.
A loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, we will miss Lois Pauline Cook. She was an angel that left a legacy of love, friendship, and family. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will forever cherish the memories she created.
