Lois Wade's Obituary
Lois H. Wade, daughter of Ernie and Mary Jane Atkinson Hough, was born June 17, 1918, near Competition, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, September 15, 2007, in St. John’s Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, two months, and twenty-eight days. On September 1, 1932, she was united in marriage to Arthur Ervan Wade, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur, on August 22, 1976; an infant daughter, Dorothy May Wade; and a son, Lloyd Leon Wade. Lois is survived by a son, Ervan Wade, and his wife, Delilah, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Mary Wade, of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Laten, of Anderson, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Competition, Missouri community. After she and Arthur were married, Lois was a devoted homemaker and mother to her family throughout the years. Lois was a longtime active member of the Church of Christ and faithfully attended the Hayes Street Church of Christ in Lebanon. She loved her church and the fellowship it offered. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting and doing embroidery projects. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lois was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her devotion to her family and church, and will remember her fondly. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
