Lois M Winn (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Lois Maude Winn, daughter of Edward and Mary Maude Pyle Thomas, was born, January 8, 1924 in Burlingame, Kansas. She departed this life, Tuesday, October 23, 2012, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty-eight years, nine months and fifteen days.
On March 1, 1941 in Topeka, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Raymond Lester Winn and to this union five children were born. Together they shared nearly sixty years of marriage before his passing on February 8, 2001.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Florence Getty and a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Winn.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Winn and Debbie Lock of Montreal, Missouri and Keith Winn and wife Cheryl of Marceline, Missouri; three daughters, Verna Miller and husband Larry of Camdenton, Missouri, Ruth Porter of Columbia, Missouri and Kay Allen of Branson, Missouri; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Lois was raised in Osage City, Kansas and graduated from high school there. After her marriage to Ray, they made their home in Topeka, Kansas. In 1944, they moved to Osage Beach, Missouri and owned and operated Kapilana Beach Resort and later the Glaize Standard Station. She was a talented seamstress and constructed garments and did alterations for many people. She made cheerleading uniforms for Camdenton High School and costumes for an underwater show in Osage Beach. Most importantly, she was a homemaker, a mother and a help-mate to her husband.
Lois made a profession of faith and was a member of Harper Chapel United Methodist Church in Osage Beach.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.
