Lola Strange's Obituary
Lola Jo Strange, daughter of Milton and Ada Marie (Graham) Katzenmeyer, was born September 11, 1923 in Mason City, Iowa. She departed this life Friday, March 2, 2007 at Table Rock Health Care, in Kimberling City, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, five months and twenty-one days. Lola was united in marriage to Darrell S. “Bill” Strange, and to this union, one daughter was born. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband, Bill, on December 3, 1989. Lola is survived by her daughter, Vicki Jo Haynes, and her husband, Robert, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; four grandchildren, Robin Lopez, of Galena, Missouri, Tony Roe, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Claudia Offill, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Loren Roe, of Prospect, Tennessee; fourteen great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy Katzenmeyer and his wife, Karen, of Nixa, Missouri; two stepsons, Darrell Strange, Jr., of Reinbeck, Iowa, and Stephen Strange, of New Hartford, Iowa; a stepdaughter, Juanita Fiddick, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; as well as other family and many friends. Lola was raised in Dubuque, Iowa, and then moved to Norwood in 1969. She was an employee at the Mansfield Nursing Home for five years, and from 1979 to 1993 she was a canine breeder of miniature and toy breeds. Lola was a member of the Norwood United Methodist Church where she enjoyed her church fellowship with her fellow members. Lola and Bill were both members of the American Kennel Club Canine Breeders Association. Lola had a great love for many different animals, but her most favorite were cattle, horses, and above all, dogs, mainly Wired Haired and Scottish Terriers. When Lola wasn’t spending time tending to her animals, she would enjoy the company of her family and friends, especially her children and her grandchildren. Lola was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Mansfield. Burial will be in the Mansfield Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield, Missouri.
