Lolita C. Wood (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Lolita Cantila Wood, daughter of Simplecio and Leona Toquero Cantila, was born December 22, 1951, in Candabong, Alcantara, Cebu, Philippines. She departed this life Saturday, February 27, 2021, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, two months, and five days.
She was united in marriage to Samuel Joseph Wood on March 27, 1978, and to this union one daughter was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel in 2013; a grandson, Samuel Wood-Terry; as well as her sisters, Policarpa Arellano, Celsa Rivera, and Basyang Cantila.
Lolita is survived by a daughter, Sarah Wood-Terry, and her husband, Heath Terry, of Lebanon, Missouri; a step-son, Allen Wood, and his wife, Brenda, of Waynesville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Samson Wood-Terry, and Jessica Rogers, and her husband, Gary; her brother, Theodore Cantila, of the Philippines; her sister, Pelang Flares, of the Philippines; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Philippines and received her education there. She then moved to Manila, where she met and married Samuel. They eventually moved to Guam and later to Lebanon, Missouri. Through the years, Lolita was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Lolita was raised in the Catholic faith and had a close relationship with God.
In her spare time she enjoyed collecting jewelry, singing, sewing and cooking. She also liked telling jokes and had a delightful sense of humor. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed having time with her children and grandchildren.
Lolita was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family will cherish the wonderful memories she made for them during her lifetime.
