Loraine Elmer "L.E." Jemes (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Loraine Elmer “L.E.” Jemes, age 86 of Lebanon, Missouri, entered into eternal rest Friday morning, June 30, 2023.
L.E., as he was known by family and friends, was born May 15, 1937 in Grovespring, Missouri, to Ira Jemes and Artie Lawson Jemes.
He grew up in Morgan, Missouri and following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he faithfully served.
On May 26, 1984, he was united in marriage to Brenda Strafford.
L.E. was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Wilmetta Winns, Juanita Burgess, Merrill Jemes, Ronnie Jemes and Wilford Jemes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda, of the home; his son, Tim Jemes and his wife, Dawn of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Sandra Seney and her husband, Mike of Collinsville, Oklahoma; a sister, Fern Hale of Springfield, Missouri; and a number of grandchildren.
After L.E. returned from the Army, he was a dairy farmer as well as drove the School Bus for Lebanon Public Schools and Joel E. Barber.
He was a quiet man, a man that enjoyed just being home and working outside on his farm. He was a member of Mt. Zion Church and in his spare time, he liked to play his bass guitar and sing.
L.E. loved his family dearly. He was a hard worker and leaves a legacy of honesty, love and faith in God. The memories he made with his family and friends will be treasured for years to come.
