Loran Dame's Obituary
William Loran Dame, son of Everett and Nellie Hawk Dame, was born July 31, 1925, in the Flatwoods community, in Laclede County, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, March 12, 2008, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years, seven months, and eleven days. On March 22, 1947, in Fort Scott, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Laura Geraldine Hulsey, and together they shared fifty-two years before her passing on January 27, 1999. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a niece, Kay Rowden; and a nephew, Densil Lindsay. Loran is survived by a sister, Wilma Lorea Ward, of Lebanon, Missouri; two nieces, Lois Nichols, and her husband, Bill, and Reverend Joan Hart, and her husband, Milan, all of Lebanon, Missouri; four nephews, Kenneth Lindsay, and his wife, Susan, Delbert Lindsay, and his wife, Linda, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Leon Lindsay, and his wife, Judy, of Marshfield, Missouri, and Don Lindsay, and his wife, Donna, of Springfield, Missouri; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews; a special friend, Sharon Lewis, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born in the Flatwoods Community and lived most of his life in Lebanon. He worked at the Rice Stix Company for a few years and then was employed by Laclede Electric Cooperative for twenty-two years, retiring as a Warehouse Supervisor. Loran also did small engine repair work and home maintenance service for his friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed making special projects for his family and friends in his woodworking shop. He had a strong passion for the Lebanon Humane Society and had taken in numerous stray animals over the years. Loran was a loving brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008, in Mount Rose Memorial Park, Lebanon. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
