Lorene Parish's Obituary
Emma Lorene Parish, daughter of Mack and Maudie Givens Claiborn, was born March 13, 1920, near Decaturville, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, June 24, 2007, in St. John’s Mercy Villa, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, three months, and eleven days. On March 1, 1946, she was united in marriage to Arley Moore Parish, and to this union one daughter was born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arley, on February 15, 2002; and a brother, J. E. Claiborn. Lorene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen J. and Charles “Bud” Tarter, of Springfield, Missouri; two grandchildren, David Tarter, and his wife, Shayla, of Springfield, Missouri, and Kimberly Jett, and her husband, Jason, of Ashland, Missouri; twin great-grandsons, Alex and Jacob Tarter, of Springfield, Missouri; three great-granddaughters, Brenna Tarter, of Springfield, Missouri, Emma and Kalli Jett, both of Ashland, Missouri; a brother, Dean Claiborn, and his wife, Jean, of Rogersville, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Camden County, Missouri, and was graduated from Camdenton High School in the Class of 1938. For the next few years she worked at Burley’s Department Store in downtown Lebanon. After she and Arley were married, they made their home in the Stoutland community and lovingly raised their daughter. In addition to being a devoted and hardworking homemaker, Lorene also worked at the H. D. Lee Company in Richland for several years, and then was employed by Sundstrand Company in Camdenton until retiring. She also was very supportive of Arley in his work and community activities. Lorene made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a member of High Point Baptist Church for several years. She later was a member of Goodwin Calvary Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening in her spare time and also was an excellent cook. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lorene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in Veterans' Park in Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the American Heart Association may be made through the funeral home.
