Lorene Wilson Fields' Obituary
ina Lorene Wilson Fields, daughter of Benjamin Harrison and May Allen Beal, was born July 8, 1923, in Laclede County, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, June 1, 2008, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, ten months, and twenty-three days. On September 15, 1937, she was united in marriage to Claude Raymond Wilson and to this union four daughters and four sons were born. Mr. Wilson passed away on May 27, 1990. On January 26, 1996, she was united in marriage to Azo Melvin “A.M.” Fields, and together they shared two years before his passing on April 23, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Kenneth Ray and Bob Wilson; two grandsons, Kenneth Ray and Leslie Raymond Wilson, Jr.; and a number of brothers and sisters. Lorene is survived by four daughters, Darlene West, Pauline Pruitt, Claudine Waterman, and Marlene Welch, all of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Leslie Wilson, and his wife, Ollie, and Benny Wilson, and his wife, Janey, all of Lebanon, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Brownfield community, in Laclede County, Missouri. After she and Claude were married, they made their home near Lebanon and lovingly raised their children. Throughout the years, she was a devoted and hard working homemaker to her husband and family. While she and Azo were married, they made their home in the Niangua community, and then, after his passing, Lorene moved into Lebanon and made her home. Lorene had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church. She planted a large garden each year and liked canning her homegrown produce. She also enjoyed growing beautiful flowers and fishing in her spare time. She was an excellent cook and liked making special recipes for family gatherings. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren. Lorene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Crossroads Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to St. John's Hospice may be made through the funeral home.
