Lori Lightfoot-Collins (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Lori Ann Lightfoot-Collins was born September 3rd, 1960, to Henry and Wilma (Kays) Lightfoot in Buffalo, Missouri and left this life on March 6th, 2025, at her home in Goodson, Missouri.
She was raised in Olathe, Kansas and graduated from Olathe High School in 1978. By her testimony, she was saved by God's grace shortly after this at home in bed. She was a member of Oxford Missionary Baptist Church in Olathe, collecting years of many precious memories.
She was employed in her adult life mainly as a school bus driver- enjoying the time spent with teachers, students, and families. She also worked in a number of other fields and seemed to leave each one with a new friend or two.
Later in life Lori returned to the Urbana area and happily spent her remaining years at home, a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.
Lori enjoyed being outside in nature, crafting handmade cards that she sent to friends and family, playing card games, working on puzzles, going to fairs and festivals and watching old game shows.
As much as she enjoyed those things, she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, family, and her dear friends Shelley and Lois. She loved reading and discussing God's word, attending revivals, and finding opportunities to help bear the burdens of others.
Lori was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma, her aunt, Vicki (Kays) Rima, and her mother-in-law Louetta Collins. She is survived by her father, Henry Lightfoot of Shawnee, KS, her brother Jeff (Cori) Lightfoot, of Lenexa, KS, her father-in-law Robert Collins of Lenexa, KS, her daughters, Kama (Nick) Richetta, of Los Angeles, CA, Kelsi (Nate) Mallard, of Fair Grove, MO, and Haley Collins of Urbana, MO, and her sons, Bryson Lightfoot of Greensboro, NC and Tyler Collins of Goodson, MO. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren; Noah, Naomi, Elias, Jacob and Paxton, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 12 pm with Brother Kip Baker officiating. Visitation will be held the hour prior from 11 am - 12 pm. Following all services, Lori will be laid to rest at Little Niangua Cemetery.
