Lorine Elam (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Lorine Elam, daughter of Rufus and Addie Brasier Hicks, was born September 1, 1918, near Corkery, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, October 26, 2015, in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-seven years, one month, and twenty-five days.
On November 12, 1933, she was united in marriage to Frank Elam, and to this union three daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank, on November 25, 1996; three daughters, Freda Elam, Loretta Hall, and Loverta Hufft; six brothers, Roy, Homer, Earney, Virney, Herbert, and Herman Hicks; and a sister, Bulia Hicks.
Lorine is survived by a son, Freman Elam, and his wife, Connie, of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Treva Lund, and her husband, Ric, of Springfield, Missouri, Angelia Brown, and her husband, Mark, of Marshfield, Missouri, and Kevin Elam, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Corkery community, near Lebanon. After she and Frank were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area and lovingly raised their children. Throughout the years, Lorine was always a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. In 1959, she was ordained into the ministry in the Church of God. She served and helped start several churches in the Lebanon area.
Lorine made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was dedicated to serving the Lord.
In her spare time she enjoyed growing beautiful flowers and going to garage sales. She had a great love for animals and particularly cats. Her family was very important to her and she especially loved her grandchildren.
Lorine was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her ninety-seven years.
