Lorraine Jaconi's Obituary
Born Lorraine Harriet Cook, April 20, 1922 in Brooklyn, New York to Henry “Richard” Cook and Wilhelmina “Minnie” Fredericks. She was raised and graduated from high school in South Ozone Park, Long Island, New York. Lorraine married August 29, 1944 to Michael Jaconi during World War II. They lived in Oklahoma, Arizona, and California. Lorraine cared for her mother until her death in 1989. She is preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Michael, on April 3, 1991. Lorraine moved from Ava, Missouri at that time to Mansfield to be closer to her family. Lorraine is survived by a daughter, Barbara Jackson and husband, Jim, of Mansfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Clay Jackson, of Springfield, Missouri, Clint Jackson and Tara Jackson, of Mansfield, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Rashawnda Sullivan, and husband, Josh, of Diggins, Missouri, and Shay Jackson, of Mansfield, Missouri; one great-great-granddaughter, Mallory Sullivan, of Diggins, Missouri; a brother, Elwood “Woody” Cook, and wife, Dolores, of Bluffton, South Carolina; a special niece, Irene Place and husband, Ron, of Grovespring, Missouri; special loved ones Danae and Calista Bogart of Mansfield, Missouri; many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Lorraine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, in Ava, Missouri. She enjoyed her many years as Volunteer for the Older Adults Transportation “OATS” bus. She did needle work and reading before her vision declined. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they called her “Diddi”, a special name for a special lady. She baked the best cookies, and was fond of word games on the computer and emailing her family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2007, in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Grovespring, Missouri. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7 - 9:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield, Missouri.
