Lottie Hicks (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Lottie Jo Hicks, daughter of Hiram and Carolyne Buttram Perryman, was born July 29, 1915, near Grovespring, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, July 5, 2011, in Webco Manor, in Marshfield, Missouri, at the age of ninety-five years, eleven months, and six days.
On June 10, 1934, she was united in marriage to Norman Franklin Hicks, and to this union two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman, on May 10, 2001; a granddaughter, Heather Hicks; and a brother, Elvin Perryman.
Lottie is survived by two sons, Jerry Hicks, and his wife, Linda, of Marshfield, Missouri, and Don Hicks, and his wife, Joyce, of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Gary, Mark, Alan, and Jay Hicks; twelve great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Sarah, Annabelle, Nicky, Casey, Michelle, Connor, Levi, Abby, Malory, Halley, and Sydney; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Grovespring, Missouri area. After she and Norman were married, they made their home on their farm, near Grovespring, and lovingly raised their sons. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family and helping in the operation of the farm, Lottie also worked for the Rice Stix Factory in Lebanon, and continued with them when they became the H. D. Company.
Lottie had professed her faith in Christ and was a longtime active member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Grovespring, Missouri.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and cooking. She was a very active person and tackled everything she did with great energy and fortitude. She had a very outgoing personality and was loved by everyone she met. Her family was very important to her, and she especially enjoyed having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren visit and stay with her.
Lottie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
