Louise Tripp (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Louise Tripp, daughter of Carl McDowell and Mary Ellen Moreland McDowell, was born November 25, 1943 in Kansas City, Kansas. She passed away Friday, July 3, 2026 in her home in Phillipsburg, Missouri. She was eighty-two years, seven months and eight days of age.
Louise grew up in the Kansas City area and graduated high school. She settled in Lebanon, Missouri before moving to Cape Fair in 1990. She began a twenty-six year career at Silver Dollar City, playing the part of Mrs. Claus for many years and was Miss Opal at the Doll Shop. She loved her time at the very popular theme park and made many friends that became like family to her. She and her husband, Bill, especially enjoyed their international families they met while working during World Fest at Silver Dollar City.
Louise also was employed for a time with Tracker Boats and at the school as a bus driver.
On April 4, 1997, Louise was united in marriage to William “Bill” Tripp in Miami, Oklahoma. They enjoyed traveling across the country and seeing America. They especially enjoyed their winter stays at Shady Oaks in Rockport, Texas where they made many good friends.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mary Ellen McDowell; her loving husband, Bill Tripp; her sister, Boots Finney; and her step-daughter, Michelle Pepe.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty Shadwick and her husband Jimmy, and Donna Speer and her husband Randy, all of Phillipsburg, Missouri; her son, Mark Orme of Cape Fair, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Crystal, Norman, David, Travis, Raymond, Kyle and Samantha; several great-grandchildren; and a special caretaker and friend, Cathy Sullivan.
Above all, her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. Louise was an active member at Hillcrest Baptist Church and enjoyed her Sunday School Class. Her faith, steadfast love, and servant’s heart were evident in the way she loved each day.
Louise will be remembered for her love of travel, her infectious smile, and her dedication to her loved ones. Her warm presence and unwavering support will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
