Loyd Raymond Hall (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Loyd Raymond Hall, 91, of Aldrich, MO passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO.
Loyd was born in Mingo, Iowa on November 26, 1925 to Ruth and Ray
Hall. They lived in various location in the vicinity Of Mingo until 1936. The
family move to Bondurant, Iowa in 1936. Loyd did odd jobs for the
neighbors like hauling water in his little wagon and oblong tub. He graduated
from Bondurant High School in 1944 but had enlisted in the US Navy in
February so his mother
, Ruth, had to pick up his diploma. He went through boot camp and was
assigned to an electrical school at the University of Minnesota, after that
school, he was assigned to Camp Shoemaker where he was on guard duty
over the mutineers from the Port Chicago uprising. He was assigned to
Treasure Island bas for reassignment and was assigned to a base in New
Guinea. There he volunteered for mess cook duty and did a little barbering
on the side.
He went on Board the USS Dobbin, a destroyer repair ship, and it was
assigned to the Subic Bay area in the Philippines where he remained until
_ the ship was ordered back to the states after the end of World War II.
On discharge from the US Navy, he returned to the Minneapolis area where
he married Delores Kupka. To this union was born Steve, Ronald, and
Kimberly. He worked for General Mills until that plant was closed. H
worked for a photo copying manufacturing plant and for an air conditioning
factory until retiring.
After retirement, he and his brother purchased a property near Aldreich,
Missouri. He enjoyed working with the DA V in Bolivar on bingo nights and
at the Flemington Military Honor Guard, A Lipe member of the American
Legion, and attended the Sacred Heart Church.
His survivors are his sons, Steve Hall and wife Sharon and Ron Hall; daughter, Kimberly and husband John; One brother, LeRoy; two sisters, Alice and husband Harold Kores, and Evelyn Rippey and Husband Russell.
Preceding him was his mother and father Ray and Ruth hall and brother Argie
and wife Maxine Hall.
