Luanna Mae Dowell (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Luanna Mae Dowell was born to Ray and Edith Dowell on July 7, 1943. She loved to tell people they should never forget her birthday "because it was the 7th day of the 7th month and 4+3=7, so just remember 7/7/7"! She passed away peacefully March 12, 2023.
You never questioned where you stood with Lu. She loved fiercely with all her heart, and either bragged about you, or relegated you to "other'n" status.
Luanna loved to bowl, play cards and various other games. Like most of the Dowells, she was a sore loser and gloating winner, not above cheating to achieve her goals. She hated cats with a passion from hearing tales as a little girl about babies with giant hairballs. The strays didn't stand a chance with Aunt Lu and her broom!
Lu loved going to church and appreciated everyone that made it possible for her to attend. She also looked forward to class reunions and catching up with school mates.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Oren, Lora Alice, Harold, Tommy, Cecil, and Donald. She is survived by her brother Virgil and a host of nieces and nephews who will fondly remember their spunky red-headed aunt who loved big and argued bigger.
