Luci Jane Adams (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Luci Jane Adams was born August 20, 1936 in Sugar Orchard, Arkansas, the daughter of Oscar Waggoner and Nellie Richardson Waggoner. She passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024 in Copper Rock Healthcare in Rogersville, Missouri at the age of eighty-seven years, nine months and nineteen days of age.
Luci was raised in Arkansas and was married to Billy R. Adams in May of 1952. To this union, four children were born.
They moved their family to Lebanon in the late 1950’s where Luci enjoyed her role as wife, mother and homemaker. As the children grew up, she was employed at H.D. Lee Company. She made many lifelong friends and enjoyed her time there.
Luci was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Billy; her twin brother, Lucian Waggoner; and her sister, Helen Bryant.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Smith and her husband Mike of Lebanon, Missouri, Retta Adams of Nashville, Tennessee and Sheila Semsch of Edmond, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; a brother, Roland Waggoner of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Luci enjoyed antique shopping and was a member of a bowling team. Luci also had an appreciation for furniture and enjoyed buying new furniture and redecorating her home.
She was very proud of becoming an accomplished author when she published a children’s book, “The Adventures of Jer-toy.”
She was a member of Second Freewill Baptist Church in Lebanon, Missouri.
Most important to Luci were her children and grandchildren. Her life revolved around her family and her absence will leave a great void. The memories that Luci leaves her family will be treasured for years to come.
Graveside service for Lucy Adams will be Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Mount Rose Memorial Park.
