Lucille Jackson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Anna Lucille Jackson was born near Long Lane, Missouri on February 9, 1932 to Samuel Swigert and Esther Chatman Swigert. She passed away Monday, January 8, 2024 in Mercy hospital in Lebanon, Missouri. At the time of her passing, she was ninety-one years, ten months and thirty days of age.
Lucille, as she was known by family and friends, lived her entire life in Dallas and Laclede Counties. On January 9, 1951, she was united in marriage to Marvin Silas Jackson. Together they lovingly raised their five children and shared over sixty-one years of marriage. Marvin passed away October 12, 2012.
In addition to her husband, Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Judy; a son-in-law, Dennis Maxwell; a daughter-in-law, Janice Jackson; her brother, James Swigert; her mother and father-in-law, Alfred and Emma Jackson; sisters-in-law, Judy and Betty Jackson and brothers-in-law, Merlin and Ronnie Jackson.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Maxwell and Penny Dame and her husband, Chris, all of Grovespring, Missouri; two sons, Rick Jackson and his wife Marsha of Conway, Missouri and Randy Jackson and his significant other Jen Hedgepath of Lebanon, Missouri; her grandchildren, Stephanie and husband Craig, Melinda and husband Troy, Mandy and husband Mike, Amanda and husband David, Ashley and husband Clay, Jason, Stacy and husband Kyle, Millie and husband Eric, and honorary grandson, Gavin; her great-grandchildren, Nathan and wife, Mariah, Andrew and wife Emily, Jacob, Cael, Carter, Emily, Cole, Baillie, Logan, Marshal, Aiden, Jake and Josh; and three great-great-grandchildren, Kaine, Camden and Hadley.
Lucille loved her role has mother and homemaker. Her life revolved around her family and she was dedicated to caring for her special needs daughter, Judy. She looked forward to time spent with all her grandchildren and watching them grow up.
She was a hard worker at home and the many years she was employed at H.D. Lee. She was a very friendly person and never met a stranger. She was proud of her beautiful hair.
In her spare time, Lucille liked gardening and visiting others. She also enjoyed traveling and liked to fly.
Throughout her life, Lucille was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, embodying the roles of a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Her home was a haven of warmth, love, and laughter, where countless memories were created and treasured. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Services for Lucille Jackson will be Friday, January 12, 2024 at 2 p.m. in Morgan Baptist Church. Visitation will be Thursday, January 11 from 5- 7 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ozark Community Cemetery.
A memorial to Ozark Community Cemetery or St. Jude Children’s Hospital has been established and donations may be made through the funeral home.
