Lyle accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age in Dunnegan Missouri. He grew up on the family farm until he joined the military as a merchant marine during World War II and as part of the Military Police in the Army during the Korean War. Lyle completed his armed services with honors and went to work for Armco Steel in Kansas City Missouri where he retired after 30 years of service. He returned to the family farm to care for his mother and work on the farm. After his mother passed away and many years of managing the family farm he sold the farm and moved to Stockton Lake to begin a life of taking it easy and fishing. His love of tinkering and fixing anything that were broken got in the way of his fishing plans. Lyle had the ability to fix and repair almost anything.
Lyle was a caring man that would do anything for his family and friends. Giving back to those around him whether it was through sharing knowledge, lending a helping hand or loaning a tool was his true passion. He always wanted to see that his family and friends were taken care of and was able to have a productive, fruitful life. His simple way of looking at things and doing things always made an impact on those around him. We all remember his Lyle-isms and will carry those with us as we celebrate his life. His true passion in life was loving and helping everyone around him.
