Lynda G. Smith (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Lynda Gayle Smith, daughter of Ellis and Eula D. Morgan Renner, was born November 20, 1948, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, April 23, 2021, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, five months, and three days.
On July 6, 2000, she was united in marriage to Gene L. Smith, and to this union they shared three daughters and three sons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene, on February 2, 2012; and a grandson, Davin.
Lynda is survived by three daughters, Danna Yelton, and her significant other, Stacy Wilson, of Rolla, Missouri, Amanda Brown, and her husband, Chris and Toni Tucker, and her husband, Josh, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three sons, Danny Biggs, of Tunas, Missouri, Dylan Smith, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Roger Smith, and his wife, Carrie, of Marshfield, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Justin, Kyndall, Brianna, Sean, Barrett, Madison, Olivia, Derek, Cole, Matthew, Daniel, Logan, and Faithlynn; five great-grandchildren, Arianna, Claire, Kynlee, Levi, and Carter; a sister, Barbara Layher, of Stuttgart, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Kansas and Missouri, spending her summers at Bennett Spring State Park, near Lebanon. She graduated from Chapman High School. She then made her home in Kansas City, and Waynesville for several years, where she worked as a beautician and was also a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. The family then lived in Newburg, Missouri, while Lynda owned and operated the Houston House Restaurant. Later, the family moved to Lebanon and made their home.
Lynda had made her profession of faith in Christ and was very involved in the Lebanon Family Church. She had a deep abiding faith and enjoyed regularly hosting the Ladies Prayer Group in her home.
She liked being outdoors and going for Jeep rides. She possessed a sharp wit and a delightful sense of humor. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lynda was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Funeral services for Lynda Smith will be Friday, April 30 at 11 a.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
