Mabel "Marie" Crabtree (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mable “Marie” Crabtree, 79, of Bolivar, MO passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO.
For much of her life Marie was known for her big heart, especially when it came to her family. Her children and her grandchildren were always very special to her. Throughout her life, she suffered much loss, including her parents, husband, a daughter and a son. She was able to navigate these storms of life with great courage and strength, even more than she knew she could.
She loved to cook for her family as well as for her church. She was heavily involved with her church back at home in Modesto, CA for many years. She enjoyed working bake sales where she would make peanut brittle and her famous enchiladas. Her efforts helped the church as well as the ladies retreat.
Marie enjoyed life, and never took herself too seriously. She was a dingy blonde at heart, as always said silly things before unintentionally. One thing that Marie did take seriously was a clean house. She preferred to have her home picked up, even if it meant cleaning up after others herself.
Marie loved her family dearly, and her final wish was that her children would continue in that love with each other.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John Olen Crabtree, as well as her son, Robin Olen Crabtree and her daughter, Gina Marie Clancey.
Marie is survived by her children; Becky Kelly, John Luke Crabtree, and April England. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Services for Marie Crabtree will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 5 PM at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO.
