Mabel Dickinson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mabel Louella Dickinson, daughter of Barney and Oma Bennett Douglas, was born March 6, 1925, near Nebo, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, November 6, 2017, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of ninety-two years and eight months.
On October 18, 1947, she was united in marriage to Leslie E. Dickinson; they shared their life with their two children, until he passed away on December 10, 1983.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Benton; and two sisters, Alma and Juanita.
Mabel is survived by a son, James Dickinson, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Janice Cuero, of the State of California; one grandchild, Angie Torres; two great-grandchildren, Adriana and Justin; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born near Nebo Missouri and spent her early years in Laclede County in the Orla community. In 1979, she moved with her husband to the Lebanon area and raised her family. She was a homemaker and worked at having a loving home for her children and grandchildren.
Mabel attended Happy Hill Church early in her life. Since moving to Lebanon, she attended the Free Will Baptist Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed listening to her son play music at various locations. She was a caregiver in every sense of the word and showed that with her family throughout her life. Time with her family was very important to Mabel and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mabel will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all those who knew her. She was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. We gather today to celebrate her life and accomplishments.
