Although I was privileged to know Mabel only a few years, in that time she had a profound effect on my life and ministry.I have yet to meet another soul whose spirit is as pure, sweet, and gentle and willing to do whatever our Lord asks. She often invited me to her home where she ministered to me through her life stories and photographs that revealed her self-sacrificial love of Jesus and for those Jesus put in her life, especially her "girls" and their children. When Mabel's illness began to manifest itself, and she had to leave our New Hope congregation, it was a heartbreaking loss to us that can never be filled. Now she is with our Lord whom she indeed loves with all her heart, soul, and mind. I know this not because she said so, but because she demonstrated her love for Christ by bringing the love of Jesus to everyone He put in her path.##imported-begin##Pat Deavers##imported-end##

Mable McDaniel has left wonderful memories of the past. The children loved her Sunday School class teaching especially with the beautiful drawings to go with Bible stories. We enjoyed them also as she would draw chalk pictures for church services. Mable, Kitty and Fern sang so well as a trio which we all enjoyed. She was quite a talented lady and we all loved her. I will never forget the day I met Mabel; we call her Beeb. I was dating Janice, and was with the family at church. After the service, Beeb reached in her wallet and pulled out $20. She said, "Here, take my girl to lunch." She gave me more than $20 that day. She gave me her seal of approval on the marriage to my sweetheart. She made Janice's beautiful wedding gown, too. She has been a real friend to us, and we have loved her so dearly. She lived with us for the final 8 years of her life, and I was always so impressed with her sweet disposition and her Christ-like spirit. I enjoyed our times of Scripture-reading and prayer. She always prayed to be an effective witness for the Lord. She is with Him now, free from the effects of time. Very rarely in life do we meet people who impact everything about us for the better, see the good in us, and love us for who we are. Beeb was that sort of person. She enriched my life in a thousand different ways. She taught me so much. She taught me to flip pancakes when I was 6, to knit when I was 7, to sew and to drive. She taught me the books of the Bible, and how to study God's word. Her love for Jesus, generosity, caring, compassion, fun-loving nature, and endless abilities can never be matched. Beeb shared the home of my family and I for the past eight years. It was always such a joy to care for her. She was so happy with whatever came her way. Every night as I tucked her in bed she would say, "You're too good to me. Thank you for letting me live with you." I could never be too good to her. She meant everything to me. She was there when I came into this world, and I was there when she when out of this world. Her eyes saw the Lord she waited and lived for. Such a heritage is mine. Thank you, Beeb, for what you meant to me. Your chair is empty, but you live on in my heart. And thanks to Jesus, I will see you again on the golden streets of glory. Until then, with all my love,

One day when I was about 7 my Mom and Dad went to church for a board meeting. I was told not to get into the balogna. Well I didn't listen and I made a sandwich anyway. Grandma Beeb knew the rule, but since I was already eating away, she divided the sandwich in half and ate the other half. She said, "Now I'm just as guilty. Let keep it a secret between you and me!" I have such warm and loving memories of Mabel. We would sit so often and she would tell me of her work in the hospital in the lab. I was always so fascinated as a young nurse. More than ever she was a wonderful example of s godly woman. I will miss you Beeb but will see you on the other side. I wonder if my mom has greeted "Aunt" Mabel yet and they are worshipping Jesus in His presence - friends together again? Maybe the two of them are with Jeaneen - laughing, now ageless, smiling into the face of the Lord they all loved here on earth. I remember the treats, the crocheted slippers that hurt my childhood feet, her smile and gentle ways. Oh, so many precious memories of interactions over the years.
