Madeline Balton (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Madeline M. Balton, age 92, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away Wednesday evening, July 20, 2016, at Citizens Memorial Hospital, in Bolivar. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 26, 1924 to George and Lillian Grabske.
Madeline loved her husband, son, daughter in law and family very much. She was proudly part of the greatest generation having endured both the great depression and World War II. She married her one and only love (Frank Balton) in October 1953 and gave birth to her only child (Don Balton) in September 1957. Madeline’s husband, Frank, worked as a draftsman and served as a Corporal in World War II. Madeline worked as a secretary for 50+ years and lived in the southern suburbs of Chicago most of her life (until 2003). She moved to Springfield, Missouri in 2003 and then to Bolivar, MO in 2010.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Lillian Grabske; sisters, Marion Welborn and Dorothy DeVries; a brother, William Grabske; and her husband, Frank Balton.
Madeline is survived by her only child, Don Balton and daughter in law (Linda Balton), who reside in Dunnegan Missouri. Madeline also leaves behind her two loving granddaughters (Neel and Raegen), and four great grandchildren (Revan, Tony, Nayla and Kobii).
Madeline was a wonderful mother and a loving wife. Madeline’s pride and joy was her family and she loved Christmas, playing the organ, card games and other simple pleasures of life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will in Chicago Ridge, Illinois, under the direction of the Curley Funeral Home.
