Manuel Young's Obituary
Manuel Young, son of Lowell Elmer and Lula Myles (Gray) Young, was born April 6, 1956, near Marshfield, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, December 25, 2010, in Texas County Memorial Hospital, in Houston, Missouri, at the age of fifty-four years, eight months and nineteen days.
From his first marriage a daughter, Mandy was born. In 1979 he was united in marriage to Frances Palmentre, who preceded him in death in 1988. To this union three children, Jessica, Manuel Joseph, and Tabitha were born.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Bonna Young; a sister, Jeanie Pearson; and his step-brother, Bud Roberts.
Manuel is survived by a son, Manuel Joseph Young and his wife, Jennifer, of Springfield, MO.; three daughters, Tabitha Young, of Springfield, MO., Jessica Young, of Kansas City, KS., and Mandy Carr, of Medicine Lodge, KS.; fourteen grandchildren; four brothers, Jimmy Dale Young, of the State of Washington, Bobby and Timmy Young, both of Kansas City, KS., Ronnie Young, of Liberty, MO.; three sisters, Loretta Helms, of the State of SD., Shirley Vining, of Kansas City, KS., and LaDonna Cody, of Mountain Grove, MO.; four step-sisters, Bonna Sue Hutson, Debra Beatty, Kathy Jones and Pamela Hampton; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Born in Webster County, he lived in Springfield and Lebanon until the family moved to Kansas City, Kansas in the late 1960’s. He later served his country faithfully entering the United States Marine Corps, where he received a Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and Good Conduct Medal. After receiving his Honorable Discharge he returned to the Kansas City area where he resided most of his life until moving back to Wright County for the last several years.
His family was very important to him, and he loved teasing and spending time with them. He found pleasure in his solitude being a homebody. In his spare time he liked watching TV, listening to music and singing.
Manuel was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed, but will live on in our hearts forever.
Funeral services for Manuel will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 31, 2010 in Holman Howe Funeral Home, Hartville Missouri. Burial wi follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with full Military Rites.
