Marcene Elizabeth Jones (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Marcene Elizabeth (Young) Jones was born to Oker Owen Young and Nellie Bethany (Weeks) Young on May 29, 1932, in Plad, Missouri and died February 14, 2022, in Buffalo, Missouri. She was at the time of her passing 89 years, eight months, and 16 days of age.
She was united in marriage to Jimmie Lee Jones on Feb 9th, 1952, in Lebanon, Missouri.
Marcene was saved at an early age, and she and Jim were very active in several churches during their lifetimes. They attended Garfield Avenue Church of God in Lebanon, Missouri for 30 years. After moving to Long Lane, they attended Dallas County Community Church as long as their health permitted.
Marcene enjoyed country living; cooking, sewing, and gardening. She also enjoyed volunteer work and helping people in any way she could. She had a special place in her heart for children, and many of her Sunday School kids have stayed in touch over the years. Family and friends were a very important part of her life.
Marcene was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Lee Jones; her parents; and two brothers, Ellis & Clay Young. She is survived by a son, Jerry Jones & wife Christie of Phillipsburg, Missouri; two grandchildren, John Jones & wife Laura of Urich, Missouri, and Julie Brown & husband Preston of Windsor, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo, Missouri. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. and interment will follow the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Tunas, Missouri. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Dallas County Community Church in Long Lane, Missouri.
