Marchie Cornelison, Jr. (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Marchie Cornelison of Branson, Missouri, formerly of Lebanon, Missouri, was born March 29, 1933 in Kanorado, Kansas to Marchie and Ethel Cornelison. He departed this life Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in Branson, Missouri at the age of ninety-one, following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Marchie was united in marriage to Joan Watkins on June 6, 1959. Together Marchie and Joan shared forty-five years of love and countless laughs, while raising their son and daughter, Mark and Diane. Joan passed away May 29, 2004.
Marchie was a devoted husband and father, always putting the needs of his family first. He loved going to sales and collecting junk (“antiques”). He also loved visiting with family and friends. He enjoyed Mexican food. Most of all, time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, is what he treasured most. He loved them unconditionally.
Marchie is survived by his son, Mark Cornelison and his wife Bonnie of Lebanon, Missouri; his daughter, Dr. Diane Cornelison of Branson, Missouri; a daughter in his heart, Laurie Patrick of Branson, Missouri; two grandchildren, Matthew Cornelison and Joseph Torrence; three great-grandchildren, Maddie, Mikah and Titus Torrence, and one on the way, Nathan Bradley Cornelison; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife and best friend, Joan; and two grandsons, Nathan Cornelison and Jamie Torrence.
Marchie had his Master’s degree and was proud to have been involved with the designing of the control panel for the early Apollo unmanned missions. He later moved to Missouri where he built homes and owned and operated a cattle farm.
Being a ham radio operator was a fun hobby for him and he also enjoyed the challenge of rebuilding electronics.
Marchie had an unmatched zest for life and loved without limitation. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
