Marcia Agan (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Marcia Marie (Cook) Agan
Marcia Marie Agan was born January 5, 1952, to Ruth Myers Cook and
Nelson H. Cook, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life, surrounded by her
family, on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Cox Medical Center South in
Springfield, at the age of 68.
On July 17, 1970, Marcia married Roger D. Agan, with whom she would
spend fifty years. Together they lovingly raised two sons, Jeffrey and Timothy.
Marcia made a profession of faith in Christ at an early age, and although she
was just a small child attending with her family when it was founded, she
nonetheless proudly considered herself a charter member of Hillcrest Baptist
Church. She loved the church and was a faithful member throughout her life.
Marcia enjoyed crafting and was a talented seamstress; she created countless
thoughtful, personal gifts for friends and family members over the years.
During her fifty-year career in retail at stores in Lebanon and Rolla, she
made many friends and was known for her cheerful attitude, unwavering
dependability and exceptional work ethic.
Marcia loyally and selflessly cared for her mother, Ruth Cook, until Ruth’s
passing at age 102 in August, 2020, less than four months before her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dr. Darrell “Dee”
Cook.
Marcia is survived by her husband, Roger, as well as her sons, Jeffrey Agan
(Andrea) of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, and Timothy Agan of Kansas City; a
brother, Harold Cook (Carol) of Madison, Alabama; a sister-in-law, Carla Ballowe,
of Centerview; two grandchildren, Amelia and Carter Agan; several nieces and
nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be held at Lebanon City Cemetery on Tuesday,
December 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. David Brown officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be left at the funeral home.
